Her Shop began as a seed planted in my childhood in China, a time when life was simple, and almost everyone was poor. As a little girl, I had a deep love for beauty and creativity. My mother worked at a sewing factory, and each day, she would bring home scraps of fabric. While others saw them as leftovers, I saw endless possibilities. I sewed together my first doll from these fabric pieces, and she quickly became my little muse. I named her and spent hours making clothes for her—traditional Chinese dresses crafted from scrap fabric, jewelry created from saved candy wrappers. I cherished every detail, dressing her like a fairy, capturing a vision of beauty I imagined.
But as I grew up, life took me in a different direction. I pursued engineering in space science, a path that led me far from the sewing kit and childhood dreams. However, that spark of creativity never left me. It lay quietly within, a dream waiting for the right moment to bloom again. Years later, I became a mother to two wonderful daughters who are incredibly gifted artists. As I watched them grow, I saw reflections of my younger self—their love for design, creativity, and beauty. They, too, are illustrators and budding fashion designers with a passion for creating beauty.
Inspired by my daughters, I felt that old dream return. I wanted to bring the joy of design, beauty, and self-expression to others—women and girls of all ages. Together with my daughters and an amazing team of creative, dedicated women, we launched Her Shop. Her Shop isn’t just a store; it’s a place where dreams of beauty and confidence are within reach, where any girl can create her dream dress without breaking the bank. We believe every woman deserves to live beautifully and freely, empowered to express herself with joy and confidence.
